Dust Print #10
2005
dust, chine collé on rag paper
36 x 30” (paper size)
A series of “prints” in which dust and detritus from the printshop floor is offset and laminated between papers through the use of a press and an uninked etching plate. Recalling print historian William Ivins’ famous dictum of print reproducibility being rooted in a syntax of “lines, dots and dashes”, this series invokes the particulate matter of this graphic, pictorial language.
